The Basic Security Guard Training Course

This course is designed for individuals seeking to start their careers as Security Guards. As it’s required by legislation in most provinces, this foundational course covers all the basics required for a Security Guard license. It provides an overview of the role and responsibilities of a Security Guard, and provides training in key areas like patrol techniques, report writing, emergency response preparation, and the legal aspects of the job. The course includes both theoretical instruction and practical exercises designed to simulate real-life scenarios. On completion of this course, participants should understand the rights, duties, and obligations of a Security Guard, and be prepared to operate professionally in a variety of security contexts.

The Advanced Use of Force Training Course

The Advanced Use of Force Training Course is an integral part of the training for Security Guards and Private Investigators who need to be equipped to handle emergency situations. This course focuses on the safe and responsible use of tools like handcuffs and batons, providing both theoretical and hands-on training. Course content covers self-defense techniques, the use of force continuum, de-escalation strategies, and the legalities around the use of force. Participants will learn not just how to physically handle these tools, but also when it’s appropriate to use them. This course is designed to ensure that participants can maintain personal safety and the safety of others, even in high-pressure situations.

Emergency First Aid Training

This is a critical course for anyone working in the security field. As per the legislative requirement, at least one person must be trained in emergency first aid if five or fewer people work at a given workplace on any shift. The course provides essential skills in emergency response, covering topics like CPR, wound care, dealing with shock, handling burns, and recognizing signs of heart attack and stroke. Participants will also learn how to use Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). The course includes both theoretical learning and practical demonstrations, ensuring that participants are able to apply first aid techniques effectively in a real-world setting. Security Basics

In the Security Basics module, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the foundational principles of security work. This includes learning the roles and responsibilities of a security guard, understanding legal and ethical guidelines, and mastering the techniques for effective patrol, surveillance, and access control. The course will also cover methods of effective communication, both verbal and written, for situations such as report writing and dealing with the public or law enforcement. Other important topics include risk assessment, conflict resolution, and crisis management. By learning these essential rules and best practices, you can ensure your professionalism and effectiveness in the security field.

First Aid

In the First Aid section of the course, you will learn critical life-saving skills. The training will cover Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR-C), for both adults and children, and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), devices that can help restore a normal heartbeat during cardiac emergencies. In addition, you will also learn how to respond to different types of emergencies such as choking, bleeding, shock, burns, and fractures. This training will prepare you to stay calm and make the right decisions during emergency scenarios, potentially saving lives.

Private Investigation

The Private Investigation module of the course will introduce you to the field of investigative work. You will learn essential terminology used in investigations, as well as standard procedures for tasks such as surveillance, evidence collection, and interviewing witnesses. The course will also delve into decision-making processes involved in private investigations, helping you to understand when and how to apply different investigative techniques.
